There are three kinds of people in the world. The first group wants an almost opaque shower door so that they feel like their privacy is being maintained.

Do-it-yourselfers first need to know the size of the shower door, which can be standard or custom.

Goldberg said more homeowners are requesting a curved glass shower door because “it gives you more elbow room.” Brushed nickel, silver, oil-rubbed bronze, and satin nickel are popular finishes on door hardware.

According to Goldberg, a new luxury collection called RODA by BASCO has been very popular. Homeowners can customize the shower enclosures with different glass patterns, hardware finishes and function options. Eight different RODA collections range from the wave-like beauty of Vonse to the minimalist Dresden.

Goldberg also offered a safety tip when buying shower doors. Door handles can be attached in a several ways, but he prefers a handle which is attached by drilling through the door. Goldberg said no one wants a handle that will come loose if someone slips and grabs for it.
